Robert John Riggins (born August 4, 1949), nicknamed "Riggo" and "Diesel", is an American former professional football player who was a fullback in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Jets and Washington Redskins. He played college football for the Kansas Jayhawks.

John Riggins played 14 seasons in the NFL with the New York Jets and Washington Redskins, rushing for 11,352 yards and 104 touchdowns. He was the MVP of Super Bowl XVII and the All-Pro in 1983, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1992.
