David Mark Berger (May 24, 1944 – September 6, 1972) was an American and Israeli Olympic weightlifter, and one of the 11 Israeli Olympians taken hostage and killed by the Palestinian group Black September during the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics.

Bio. David Mark Berger was born on May 24, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States. David earned three college degrees including a Juris Doctorate, was a bronze and gold medalist in the 1965 and 1969 Maccabiah Games, and won first place in the 1969 U.S. Junior Nationals Middleweight Weightlifting Competition.

David Mark Berger was born in Shaker Heights (Cleveland), Ohio in 1944 to Benjamin and Dorothy. He attended Tulane University from 1962 to 1966 where he was a weightlifter and honor student. While at Tulane, he won the NCAA weightlifting title and earned a Bachelor degree in Psychology.
