Tom Brands (born April 9, 1968) is an American former Olympic wrestler and is currently the head coach of the University of Iowa men's wrestling team. He won a gold medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics.
Bio. Five-time Big Ten and three-time NWCA Coach of the Year Tom Brands completed his 17th season as head wrestling coach at the University of Iowa in 2022-23. A 1996 Olympic gold medalist and member of wrestling’s Hall of Fame, Brands is only the eighth head wrestling coach at the University of Iowa.

Tom Brands is a former wrestler and current assistant coach at Iowa, who won three NCAA titles and an Olympic gold medal in 1996. He is also a Distinguished Member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and has coached several All-Americans and national champions.

14 de mar. de 2022 · Tom Brands has signed a contract extension that will keep him as Iowa's head wrestling coach through the 2028-29 season, the University of Iowa announced Monday. Brands' new contract, obtained by the Des Moines Register, is a 7-year deal that begins July 1, 2022, and runs through June 30, 2029.
