Galina Alexeyevna Kulakova ( Russian: Галина Алексеевна Кулакова, born 29 April 1942) is a Soviet - Russian former cross-country skier, arguably the best skier on distances shorter than 10 km in the early 1970s. She won four Olympic golds, two individual in 1972 and two relay golds in 1972 and 1976.

A member of four Soviet Olympic ski teams from 1964 to 1976, Kulakova was a national champion from 1969.
Galina Kulakova was a Soviet cross-country skier who won eight Olympic medals, including four golds, in the 1970s. She also won five World Championship golds and the first Women's World Cup in 1978-79.
Biography. Galina Kulakova was the greatest cross-country skier of the 1970s, setting records for Olympic medals that would stand until the program was expanded for women in the late 1980s. Her finest Olympics came in 1972 at Sapporo when she won both individual events for women – 5 and 10 km – and helped the Soviet Union to a relay gold medal.
