Daniel James Dailey Jr. (December 14, 1915 – October 16, 1978) was an American actor and dancer. He is best remembered for a series of popular musicals he made at 20th Century Fox such as Mother Wore Tights (1947).

When signed to MGM, the studio initially casted him as a Nazi in The Mortal Storm (1940). The studio realized their mistake and cast him in musical films, thereafter.
Dan Dailey was a musical film star who served in World War II and later suffered from psychological problems. He died in 1978 after a hip replacement and was buried in his favorite pink hunting jacket.
