Gerard Joseph Malanga (born March 20, 1943) is an American poet, photographer, filmmaker, actor, curator and archivist.

A life-long poet, prolific photographer, filmmaker, archivist and Andy Warhol's assistant for seven years in the 1960s. Gerard is active with writing poetry, public speaking engagements, and creating special artistic projects. He lives in the Hudson Valley region.
Gerard Malanga, poet, photographer and filmmaker, worked closely with Andy Warhol during the artist's most creative period in the mid-Sixties. His several books of poetry, ranging from chic death (1971) to Mythologies of the Heart (1996), have earned him worldwide recognition.

Gerard Malanga worked closely for Andy Warhol during the artist’s most creative period, from 1963 to 1970. The New York Times referred to him as “Andy Warhol’s most important associate.” After being introduced by a friend, Warhol hired Gerard because of previous experiences in silkscreening.
