Hoi-San Kwan was born on 23 October 1925 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, Republic of China. He was an actor, known for Hard Boiled (1992), Project A (1983) and Lee Rock (1991). He was married to Di-Rong Zeng. He died on 11 September 2006 in Hong Kong.

He was recruited by renowned Cantonese opera stars Yam Kim-fai and Bak Shuet-sin through their famous Sun Sing opera troupe, having performed in Hong Kong, Macau and Vietnam. From 1950 to 1960, Kwan was a key character in many films, including Lee Rock and Hard-Boiled.
