Tribute to my dad Eamonn Gibney who passed away monday the 9th of june 2014 after suffering a year with Motor Nueron Disease.

Singer Eamonn Gibney's (RIP) career includes Purple Pussycat (1968-69), The Arrows (circa 1969), Alice (1970-71) who became Brogue (1971-72), Skid Row (1973-75), Gibney & Donovan Band (on and off in the late 70s) and The Allies (late 1980s). He also released solo material.
Skid Row reformed in Ireland in 1973, initially with Shiels, Wilson, singer Eamonn Gibney (ex-Alyce) and guitarist Ed Deane, later adding keyboard player Kevin McAlea. Gibney would later join Colm Wilkinson and Helen Jordan to sing as The Dajacs at the 1980 Irish final for the Eurovision Song Contest placing 7th.
Purple Pussycat split in 1970 when Gerry O'Donovan formed Alyce, reuniting with Eamonn Gibney who'd lost the frontman role in The Arrows to Dickie Rock. Peter Carr joined Alyce during the bands first few months in the summer of 1970 Dave Murphy#1 left to join a showband.
