50 Foot Wave (often stylized as 50FOOTWAVE) is an American alternative rock band, formed in 2003. The band is fronted by Kristin Hersh , who writes the group's songs with collaborative efforts from the other group members in composing and arranging the music.

15 de abr. de 2022 · Black Pearl is the latest release from 50 Foot Wave, the alternative rock band led by Throwing Muses singer Kristin Hersh. The album features seven tracks of grunge, drone, and baroque influences, with lyrics inspired by the sea and the South.
Review by Jon Pareles / NY Times. 50 Foot Wave is a succession of angry blows that end too fast to hurt. Much as the bandname’s promise of tsunami torrents fits the magnitude of Hersh’s distortion, a sleeker metaphor might have suited them better– something like a hyper-tuned sports car, that can take the corners of the band’s multi-sectioned math-rock and run you down like so many pylons.
