Alphonse Lee Mouzon (November 21, 1948 – December 25, 2016) was an American musician and vocalist, most prominently known as a jazz fusion drummer. He was also a composer, arranger, producer, and actor. Mouzon gained popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Alphonse Mouzon (Charleston, Carolina del Sur; 21 de noviembre de 1948-Granada Hills (Los Ángeles), California; 25 de diciembre de 2016) fue un baterista estadounidense de jazz fusión y el dueño de Tenacius Records, un sello discográfico que liberó inicialmente las grabaciones de Mouzon.

This 1972 album is one of the best of McCoy Tyner's career, recorded in his most innovative and original phase. The quartet with reedist Sonny Fortune, bassist Calvin Hill and drummer Alphonse Mouzon uses african rhythms, asian sounds (there is a solo track with Tyner playing a japanese Koto) and plays extended solos on the long title track.
