There are rocks around the place called “heavy stone”. Pick them up. Then on the ground, inside the gas clouds, you have these holes with little stones surrounding them. You can actually throw the rocks you picked up (or other objects like skulls, cups or books) into the hole and it ceases to emit that gas.
