Horseshoes and Hand Grenades is the 1992 debut solo album by Chris Mars. [4] [5] The album contains the hit song "Popular Creeps," which denounces snooty high school cliques. Most songs seem to cover break-ups; mental illness; homelessness as a trend; alienation; and apparently the rest of his former band, The Replacements .
In 1992, Murphy appeared on the debut solo album by former Replacements drummer Chris Mars, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades . Soul Asylum's success in the early 1990s gave Murphy the funds to start collecting pin-up art. This interest led to the opening of his own art gallery, the Grapefruit Moon Gallery, in 2003. [3] [4]
