The Mighty Treve is a 1937 American drama film directed by Lewis D. Collins and written by Albert R. Perkins, Marcus Goodrich and Charles Grayson. It is based on the 1925 novel Treve by Albert Payson Terhune. The film stars Noah Beery Jr., Barbara Read, Samuel S. Hinds, Hobart Cavanaugh, Alma Kruger and Earle Foxe.
A young man and his sheepdog, Treve, are given a job on a sheep-ranch by the niece of the owner. The uncle is an eccentric with a cowering fear of dogs even though dogs are required as herders on sheep ranches. The dig saves the rancher's life and then wins a number of prizes at a dog show.
When Treve saves Uncle Joel from a cougar, the old man changes his ways, and he and the dog becomes fast friends. At the dog show, Treve captures a wide assortment of prizes, but Bud's happiness is short-lived when Watling arrives and claims the dog as his own.
