Teenager of the Year is the second solo studio album by American musician Frank Black. The album was released in 1994 by 4AD in the United Kingdom and Elektra Records in the United States. It was co-produced by Eric Drew Feldman, who also played keyboards and bass guitar on the album. [12]
After the Pixies split, Feldman worked with Frank Black on his solo albums Frank Black (1993) and Teenager of the Year (1994), producing, arranging and also playing bass and keyboards. In 1994, after two Frank Black albums, Feldman applied for a job with PJ Harvey, who was putting together a band.

The studio backing tracks piled up and Black hadn't yet written words for any of 'em. Finally, as the money was about to run out, producers Eric Drew Feldman and Al Clay took one of Black's completed music tracks and wrote their OWN lyrics for it in a sci-fi Frank Black parody style.
