Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock were an American hip hop duo from Harlem, New York City. Rob Base is the stage name of Robert Ginyard (b. May 18, 1967) [1] and DJ E-Z Rock was Rodney "Skip" Bryce (1967–2014). They are best known for the 1988 single "It Takes Two", a "hip-hop staple" [2] that was a top 40 hit and has been certified platinum by the RIAA.
The Incredible Base is the only solo studio album by American rapper Rob Base. It was released on November 21, 1989, via Profile Records. Recording sessions took place at Hillside Sound Studio in Englewood, New Jersey. Production was handled by William Hamilton, Rob Base and David Wynn.

6 de feb. de 2022 · Later that year they released the album The Incredible Base, which sold more than 500,000 copies. Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock broke up in 1989 to pursue solo careers. They did, however, remain friends. During the break, DJ E-Z Rock’s debut solo album Turn It Out (Go Base) (1989) was released.
With his partner DJ E-Z Rock, the the funky Harlem born rapper made the single "It Takes Two" from the same titled album one of the best known rap songs worldwide, on a par with Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" and N.W.A.'s "Fuck the Police."
