Adamson is an eleven-time world champion adventure racer, featured on television shows including the Eco-Challenge, Primal Quest, Raid Gauloises, Men's Journal Adventure Team and X-Games that aired on Outdoor Life Network, ESPN, Discovery Channel, USA Network and MTV from 1995 - 2006.
Ian Adamson OBE (28 June 1944 – 9 January 2019) was an Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) politician and paediatrician, who was the Lord Mayor of Belfast from 1996 to 1997, having been Deputy Lord Mayor from 1994 to 1995.
Ian is a six time Guinness world record holder for endurance kayaking (262 miles in 24 hours), Altitude OCR, OCR and Fitness, and is a current Ninja Speed world record holder in the 45-49, 50-54 and 55-59 age groups. Ian won age group world championship titles in UIPM biathle, triathle and Ninja racing from 2016 to 2019.
