Greatest Hits, Volume 2 is a hits compilation album from American singer Linda Ronstadt. It was released in late 1980 on Asylum Records. The record mostly covers Ronstadt's more uptempo singles. The release has sold close to two million copies in the United States alone and was the superstar's eighth consecutive Platinum-certified album.

In her early career, Bonoff sang background vocals for Ronstadt and Wendy Waldman before releasing her debut album in 1977, titled Karla Bonoff. Her other albums include Restless Nights (1979), Wild Heart of the Young (1982), New World (1988) and All My Life (a greatest hits collection) in 1999.

“If He’s Ever Near,” “Lose Again,” and “Someone to Lay Down Beside Me” were three of Karla Bonoff’s songs that made the cut to Linda Ronstadt’s 1976 album, Hasten Down the Wind. This resulted in a major spike in Bonoff’s popularity as a singer-songwriter.
