Strange played guitar on numerous Beach Boys hits, including "Sloop John B" and the Pet Sounds album. He also played guitar for Nancy Sinatra , Jan & Dean , The Ventures , Willie Nelson , The Everly Brothers , Wanda Jackson , Randy Newman , and Nat King Cole , among others.
