Napalm Death originated in Meriden near Coventry, UK, in May 1981, founded by Nicholas Bullen and Miles Ratledge. The band’s initial style was more punk, influenced by the anarcho-punk scene. The band went through lineup changes and evolved their sound, culminating in their seminal 1987 album “Scum”, which is considered the blueprint for grindcore.
