Sydney Dickens, c. 1860. Sydney Smith Haldimand Dickens (18 April 1847 – 2 May 1872) was a Royal Navy officer, the fifth son and seventh child of English novelist Charles Dickens and his wife Catherine.

5 de jul. de 2012 · Sydney Smith Haldimand Dickens (1847-1872) – Charles Dickens was very proud of Sydney’s naval career. However later he was very displeased about Sydney’s financial troubles. Sydney passed away when he was only twenty five. He died while trying to return home for sick leave.
