Larry Carlton – Deep Into It. John Heidt. 0. I first listened to this disc in my car and thought it was nice, but nothing special. Well, the next listen was in the house, with my full attention, and while it’s what we’ve come to expect from Larry, I did indeed find it special.
Populated with spacious, mostly retro-soulful arrangements, Deep Into It (Warner Bros. 9 48006-2; 55:05) boasts some of Larry Carlton’s most pointed, interesting work in quite some time.
