Hilary James is a British musician. A vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, she plays guitar, double bass, mandobass (bass mandolin) [1] and is a singer, and songwriter. [2] She works mostly with her partner Simon Mayor [3] and with their ensemble the Mandolinquents.
‘Superb instrumentalists, Mayor is an acclaimed mandolin virtuoso, as well as a fine guitarist and fiddler, and James plays mandobass and guitar. Her elegant, articulate voice, however, is her greatest asset and a compliment to Mayor’s gentle, friendly baritone.’
