The Makers were an Australian band formed by ex-Split Enz keyboardist, Eddie Rayner, and musician and singer, Brian Baker. The duo formed in 1988 after recording the tracks for a feature film, Rikky and Pete. The self-titled debut album The Makers released in 1990, provided three singles.
Rayner has also produced material for many artists including Models, Margaret Urlich, Rikki Morris, Margot Smith, and The Exponents, as well as two Enzso recordings with Split Enz members, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Eddie Rayner was born on 19 November 1952 in Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand. He is an actor and composer, known for Incident at Raven's Gate (1988), Rikky and Pete (1988) and The Big Steal (1990).
