When Marshall arrived in New York in 1978 the Crenshaws formed a band, and in the decade to follow Robert backed his brother on tour and on record; he also continued working on his own material, and in 1998 finally issued his solo debut Full Length Stereo Recordings. Mid-2000 saw the release of Victory Songs.
