Sinopsis. Basada en una leyenda del siglo XIV y muy influenciada por las películas de Godzilla, Pulgasari trata la historia de un herrero que, encarcelado por un malvado rey que oprime a su pueblo, crea un muñeco de arroz y tierra que al caerle accidentalmente una gota de sangre de su hija, cobra vida y empieza a crecer a medida que come acero.
