James Sclavunos is an American drummer, multi-instrumentalist musician, record producer, and writer. He is best known as a drummer, having been a member of two seminal no wave groups in the late 1970s ( Teenage Jesus & the Jerks and 8 Eyed Spy , both alongside Lydia Lunch ).

Jim Sclavunos was a major part of New York’s ‘No Wave’ scene in the late 70s/early eighties. He played in Teenage Jesus and The Jerks, 8 Eyed Spy, Beirut Slump, The Gynecologists, Red Transistor and Sonic Youth.

Bert was fired afterwards and replaced by Jim Sclavunos, who played drums on the band's first studio album, 1983's Confusion Is Sex, which featured a louder and more dissonant sound than their debut EP. Sonic Youth set up a tour of Europe for the summer of 1983. Sclavunos, however, quit the band after only a few months.
