Kimberley Charles Rew (born 3 December 1951) is an English rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was a member of Katrina and the Waves from 1981 to 1999 and of Robyn Hitchcock's Soft Boys from 1978 to 1981.
Kimberley Rew’s prolific songwriting output has produced a slew of magnificent, very English, albums and singles, including the absolutely huge Katrina and the Waves hit “Walking On Sunshine”, and their Eurovision winning song “Love Shine A Light”, plus hits for The Bangles and Celine Dion.
The Waves featured guitarist Kimberley Rew and drummer Alex Cooper. This incarnation of the Waves did not issue any recordings, and broke up when Rew left to join the Soft Boys. A more direct ancestor of Katrina and the Waves was the band Mama's Cookin', a pop cover band from Feltwell.
Another dozen psychedelic pop jewels from the ever prodigous Anton Barbeau. This album was recorded in Oxford, Cambridge, and his hometown Sacramento. Guests include Kimberly Rew (of The Soft Boys, and Katrina & the Waves), and Barry Melton (of Country Joe & the Fish) on a track each.
