Modern medical education in Hong Kong started with the founding of the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese (Chinese: 香港華人西醫書院) in 1887. Currently, six institutes of higher education are engaged in the training of medical practitioners in Hong Kong.
Founded as the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese in 1887 with just a handful of students, The University of Hong Kong’s LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) now stands in the top 20 medical schools globally.
He graduated from Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese in 1900. He moved to Singapore in 1900 and practiced Western medicine there, while participating in the Chinese Revolution with Dr. Sun Yat-Sen as one of the key members of the Nanyang Branch of Tongmenghui (中国同盟会南洋分会).
