  6. The early 1980s were a period of commercial success for the band. Curb Records encouraged the band to change its name and for most of the decade they were known simply as "Burrito Brothers." Gib Guilbeau reconnected with his bandmate from Swampwater, songwriter and guitarist John Beland.
