CBGB fue un club emblemático del punk rock y la new wave, ubicado en Nueva York, Estados Unidos, en el 315 de Bowery entre la 1.ª y 2.ª Calle en el Lower East Side de Manhattan. Abierto en 1973 por Hilly Kristal donde anteriormente funcionó un bar de moteros y después un antro. [1]
The letters CBGB were for Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Kristal's original vision for the club. But CBGB soon emerged as a famed and iconic venue for punk rock and new wave bands, including the Ramones, Dead Boys, Television, Patti Smith Group, Blondie, Madonna and Talking Heads.
