Beefheart eventually formed a new Magic Band with a group of younger musicians and regained critical approval through three final albums: Shiny Beast (1978), Doc at the Radar Station (1980) and Ice Cream for Crow (1982). Van Vliet made few public appearances after his retirement from music in 1982.
5 de jul. de 2012 · Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band sound extremely vexed about something on much of this album and are at their most abrasive and bitter. The sprightliness of the previous album has gone, replaced with a need to berate those who “used me like an ashtray heart”.
