David Jon Gilmour ( Cambridge, Reino Unido, 6 de marzo de 1946) es un músico, compositor y multiinstrumentista británico, conocido por haber sido vocalista, guitarrista y uno de los compositores de la banda de rock progresivo Pink Floyd, a la cual se unió poco antes del abandono de Syd Barrett en 1968.
The album was produced by Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and Richard Wright, who also contributed on bass and keyboards respectively, along with previous Madcap contributor Jerry Shirley on drums.
Barrett was eased out of the band in 1968 because his drug use and deteriorating mental health were affecting his ability to integrate with the other band members and create and perform as a musician. He was replaced by his former school friend David Gilmour, who had initially been brought in as second guitarist.

David Jon Gilmour CBE (/ ˈ ɡ ɪ l m ɔː r / GHIL-mor; born 6 March 1946) is an English guitarist, singer and songwriter who is a member of the rock band Pink Floyd. He joined in 1967, shortly before the departure of the founder member Syd Barrett.
