Born 2 B Blue / Steve Miller | Ben Sidran. 1987. In 1987, Steve Miller was virtually retired, living in Seattle, cruising the ocean on his yacht. Yet he owed Capitol Records one more album and so we decided to record a lot of the jazz and blues songs he loved as a sophisticated way to say "goodbye" to his fans and pals at the label.
Born 2 B Blue is a studio album by Steve Miller, released in 1988 by Capitol Records. This is the only solo album that Miller has released, making it his only album not to be credited under the name Steve Miller Band. It consists primarily of jazz standards reinterpreted in a more modern context.
In 1988, he produced Miller's jazz album Born 2B Blue. He has also produced albums for Mose Allison, Van Morrison, Rickie Lee Jones, and Diana Ross. Sidran returned to Madison, Wisconsin, in 1971 and has spent most of his life there.

I was wrong; I thought what Steve wanted to do, after having all of his hits and money, was to be credible.
