Elliot Ingber (born August 24, 1941) is an American guitarist. In 1966, he joined Frank Zappa's band the Mothers of Invention and appeared on their debut album Freak Out!.

Elliot Ingber. Profile: Elliot Ingber played lead guitar with The Mothers around 1965 - 1966, but left shortly thereafter to form the Fraternity Of Man with Richie Hayward and Martin Kibbee. In the mid-seventies, Elliot Ingber played for a while with Captain Beefheart.
Ingber has authored more than 470 publications in scientific journals and books, and is an inventor on more than 190 patents spanning anti-cancer therapeutics, tissue engineering, medical devices, drug delivery systems, biomimetic materials, nanotherapeutics, and bioinformatics software.
Ingber is a pioneer in the field of biologically inspired engineering, and at the Wyss Institute, he currently leads scientific and engineering teams that cross a broad range of disciplines to develop breakthrough bioinspired technologies to advance healthcare and to improve sustainability.
