Eddie Adcock (born June 21, 1938) is an American banjoist and guitarist. His professional career as a 5-string banjoist began in 1953 when he joined Smokey Graves & His Blue Star Boys, who had a regular show at a radio station in Crewe, Virginia.
21 de jun. de 2018 · On June 21, 1938, banjo-playing stylist Eddie Adcock was born in Scottsville, Virginia. Edward Windsor ‘Eddie’ Adcock’s introduction to music came in the shape of an older brother, Frank, whose own interest led to him acquiring instruments, including a tenor banjo, that he learned to play.
Eddie Adcock was the band's banjo player and he was a player of distinction — his style was as innovative as Don Reno 's. Adcock's considerable talent spread to other stringed instruments when he left The Gentlemen in 1970 and began exploring new musical genres.

9 de jun. de 2014 · In recent years they have performed as Eddie & Martha Adcock, doing a number of shows with former Country Gentlemen bandmate Tom Gray. But health concerns have plagued him of late. Eddie underwent open heart surgery in 2004, and three brain surgeries between 2008 and 2011.
