Saint Thomas Choir School is a unique boarding school for boys in grades 3-8, tucked into the heart of New York City, that nurtures and educates the treble choristers of the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys.
Saint Thomas Choir School is a boarding school located in Manhattan, New York, one of three world-wide that exclusively educate boy treble choristers, while requiring them to board at the school (the other two being Westminster Abbey Choir School in England and Escolania de Montserrat in Spain).
Saint Thomas Choir School in the heart of New York City nurtures and educates the treble choristers of the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys, which is responsible for singing five services each week at the historic Fifth Avenue church.
Saint Thomas Choir School accepts boys from around the country without regard to religious, economic, or social background. We are currently reviewing applications for grades 3-6 on a rolling basis. The admissions process is highly personalized, with vocal evaluations, school visits, and overnight auditions scheduled throughout the year.
Students arrive on Thursday after lunch and are immersed in the Choir School’s schedule through Saturday morning. During this time, they join rehearsals, participate in sports, sleep in the dormitories, attend classes with their peers, and take academic testing.
As both a U.S. Citizen and a British Citizen, Jeremy Filsell is uniquely placed to lead the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys, which owes much of its existence to the great English choral tradition. He is hailed as a virtuoso organist and pianist of international acclaim, with a discography of more than 35 solo recordings.
