It aims to be a great university that transcends disciplinary divides to solve real-world problems in information and communications technology, biomedical research, and related fields.
Founded in 1896, National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) in Taiwan is one of the oldest Chinese universities introduced under the Western education system. It was also the first Chinese university to introduce an electrical engineering programme, and the first to offer a combined engineering and management course at a higher education level.
