Santo & Johnny were an American rock and roll instrumental duo of Italian descent from Brooklyn, New York, composed of brothers Santo Farina (born October 24, 1937) and Johnny Farina (born April 30, 1941).
"Sleep Walk" is an instrumental song written, recorded, and released in 1959 by American instrumental rock and roll duo Santo & Johnny Farina, with their uncle Mike Dee playing the drums. Prominently featuring steel guitar , the song was recorded at Trinity Music in Manhattan, New York City.

Santo would play steel guitar with Johnny accompanying him on traditional six-string, and that tape deck enabled the brothers to keep track of their compositions. In time they would pull together a piece called Sleep Walk – so named because when they couldn’t sleep they would stay up playing and recording.

In 2002 Santo & Johnny were inducted into the International Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. Hanging proudly on his wall, Johnny has 2 Gold Records, one for "Sleep Walk" and on for "The Godfather".
28 de mar. de 2019 · I have a CD called "Bollywood Steel Guitar" which includes many tracks that could have been recorded by Santo. Not just the buzzing tone, but the quick phrasing style and vibrato. Find any videos of Indian players, and they are using very lightweight slides.
