Charlie Hargrett is an American musician best known as one of the founding members and former lead guitarist of the southern rock band, Blackfoot (band). Along with the three other original band members, Rickey Medlocke (vocals, guitar), Greg T. Walker (bass guitar) and Jakson Spires (drums), Blackfoot was officially formed in 1970.

The band's classic lineup consisted of guitarist and vocalist Rickey Medlocke, guitarist Charlie Hargrett, bassist Greg T. Walker, and drummer Jackson Spires. They had a number of successful albums during the 1970s and early 1980s, including Strikes (1979), Tomcattin' (1980) and Marauder (1981).

The band was playing a string of southwestern dates with Brownsville Station when Brownsville’s frontman and perennial rock-booster Club Coda introduced them to his management company.
