En el camino ( On the Road) es una novela escrita por Jack Kerouac entre el 2 y el 22 de abril de 1951 1 y publicada por primera vez en 1957 en la editorial estadounidense Viking Press. Se trata de una novela en parte autobiográfica escrita como un monólogo interior.
Adaptación del road movie de la generación beat, que narra el viaje de Sal Paradise, Dean Moriarty y Marylou por los Estados Unidos en los años 40. Críticas mixtas de la película dirigida por Walter Salles y protagonizada por Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund y Kristen Stewart.
On the Road es una adaptación al cine de la novela de Jack Kerouac del mismo nombre, dirigida por Walter Salles y estrenada en 2012. La historia está basada en los años que Kerouac pasó viajando por América en la década de 1940 junto a su amigo Neal Cassady y otras figuras como William S. Burroughs y Allen Ginsberg.
