God Street Wine (also known as GSW) is a jam band from New York City. Their music is an amalgam of rock, jazz, bluegrass, funk, psychedelia, pop, Americana, reggae, progressive, and more. The band broke up in 1999 and reunited in 2009. GSW played a significant role in the development of the improvisational jam band scene of the early 1990s. [1] .

William H. Payne (born March 12, 1949) is an American pianist who, with Lowell George, co-founded the American rock band Little Feat. He is considered by many other rock pianists, including Elton John , [2] to be one of the finest American piano rock and blues musicians.
Bag is the first album by God Street Wine. It was released independently by Ripe & Ready records in 1992, containing many of the songs that would become staples of the band's concerts.
