Mission Statement of John Burroughs High School: JBHS uses a research-based approach to produce graduates who achieve academic excellence, who are college and career ready, and who make a positive impact in the community.
John Burroughs High School is a public high school located in Burbank, in Los Angeles County, California. It is known for its notable alumni, and being the filming location for many television shows.
Burroughs is the only school in Missouri’s six classes that had both its girls and boys basketball teams advance to the final four in the 2023-24 season. Both teams made it to the championship game — the girls placed first and the boys placed second making it a milestone year for the Burroughs basketball program.

Total Enrollment: Approximately 2,400 students Grades served: 9-12 Semester system (Fall, Spring, & Summer) Each course receives 5 credits per term.
The Alumni Office and Alumni Association work together to cultivate interest and support for JBS and to encourage meaningful relationships by offering social opportunities with fellow alums, administrators, faculty, and students.
