The next album, Recycled (1975), was stylistically close to bands like Gentle Giant and carried on the band's close connection with progressive rock. Albrighton left the band in December 1976, just prior to the studio sessions for Nektar's first major-label release, Magic Is a Child (1977).

Roye Albrighton (born February 6, 1949, Coventry, West Midlands, England - died July 27, 2016, Poole, Dorset, England) was a British guitarist and vocalist best known as the frontman for Nektar from 1970 - 1976 and 1979 - 2016. He also released three solo albums.

Nektar vocalist and guitarist Roye Albrighton has died after a long illness, former bandmate Derek ‘Mo’ Moore has confirmed. Albrighton passed away in Poole, Dorset, at the age of 67, three years after the launch of Nektar’s latest album Time Machine .
