Mark Chatfield was destined to be a guitar player the moment he saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. Growing up in Columbus, Ohio, he has been in bands since junior high. Right out of high school, Mark and a few friends formed The Godz and were signed to Casablanca Records within a year.
The Godz are: Steve Mitchell, Sav Ramey, Mark Chatfield, Keith Pickens, and Julie Neal. On 22 November 2022, The Godz performed in Columbus, Ohio and have mentioned on the website, social media, and in interviews of a new album being in the works.

Being the only surviving original member (and Bob Hill having no interest in performing live), Mark assumed the task of keeping the legacy alive. Covid-19 happened - project shelved.

Mark Chatfield. voc, g, US. Singer / Musician of Rock. American guitarist, and vocalist. After leaving The Godz, he formed the band Rosie in late-1978. He moved on to play for Bob Seger in 1983, which he continued to do until 2011.Also doing a tour with Michael Bolton late 1983-early 84 .
