Hugh Eric Allan Johnson OBE (born 10 March 1939, in London) is an English journalist, author, editor, and expert on wine. He is considered the world's best-selling wine writer.
Hugh Johnson is one of the world’s best-selling wine writers, known for his annual Pocket Wine Book and The World Atlas of Wine, first published in 1977 and 1971 respectively. His autobiography, A Life Uncorked, was published in 2006.

He was a member of the Brain Trust of Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1932 to 1934. He wrote numerous speeches for FDR and helped plan the New Deal.
