Mills College at Northeastern University in Oakland, California is part of Northeastern University's global university system. Mills College was founded as the Young Ladies Seminary in 1852 in Benicia, California; it was relocated to Oakland in 1871 and became the first women's college west of the Rockies.
Janet was born in Stamford, NY to Chester Sauveur and Elizabeth (Libby) Augusta (Osborn) Sauveur on May 20, 1941. She graduated from Grand Gorge Central School in 1959. She went on to earn a degree from Albany Business College in 1961. Janet was an Office Manager for the NY Board of Fire Underwriters in Albany, NY from 1987 to 2001.
