Heartworms is the fifth studio album by American rock band The Shins, released by Columbia Records on March 10, 2017—the band's first studio album in five years. It was produced by James Mercer, with the exception of "So Now What", which was produced by former band member Richard Swift.

Que el rapero Kendrick Lamar se les haya adelantado no les resta méritos: The Shins le han dado literalmente la vuelta a Heartworms (Sony, 17), y además han reinventado sus canciones.
Heartworms, their first LP in five years, bridges the electronic textures of 2012’s Port of Morrow with the jangly, cerebral pop of Chutes Too Narrow, touching on psychedelia (“Painting a Hole”), country (“Mildenhall”), and synth-pop (“Cherry Hearts”). It's the band’s most adventurous album yet.
3 de mar. de 2017 · Tras refugiarse en Broken Bells y recuperar la ilusión en esto del pop con el antes citado "Port Of Morrow", Mercer se muestra casi sin dobleces en "Heartworms", un disco plagado de referencias a la muerte pero más bien poco pesimista, en el que no hay lugar para el cripticismo ni para la ironía desatada.
