  2. The band is a project of guitarist and occasional pianist Vini Reilly who is often accompanied by Bruce Mitchell on drums and Keir Stewart on bass, keyboards and harmonica. They were among the first acts signed to Factory Records by label founder Tony Wilson .

  3. Factory founder Tony Wilson remained in post as manager of the band, but Sex and Death would be their last album with producer Stephen Street, famed for his work with Morrissey, The Smiths and Blur. Writer and master guitarist Vini Reilly remained philosophical.

  4. Vini Reilly was a brilliant musician and a true artist. I was so surprised to hear some of these pieces on "The Bear" series recently, so I guess his popularity is growing. Like the late Mark Hollis, it's a shame that the greater appreciation of his work is of no further use to him, personally.
