King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls is an Academy and member of the King Edward VI Academy Trust Birmingham and the King Edward VI Foundation. The school has been situated in Rose Hill Road, Handsworth since 1911.
King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls is a grammar school for girls aged 11–18 located in Handsworth, Birmingham, England. It is part of the Foundation of the Schools of King Edward VI. The school was founded in 1883 as King Edward's Aston on the site where its brother school, King Edward VI Aston School, remains to this day.
Handsworth Grammar is part of the Grammar Schools in Birmingham, the King Edward VI Foundation and the King Edward VI Academy Trust. We provide a stimulating and educationally successful environment for our pupils – accepting Boys from age 11 to 16 as well as Boys and Girls at Sixth Form level.
Sixth Form. King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School for Boys is one of the most academically successful in the city, and virtually all of our Year 13 students go on to university. Those that choose not to go to university, secure excellent apprenticeships with major companies.

The School admits approximately fifty to eighty external students into the Sixth Form each September. We welcome applications from ambitious and motivated students in the Birmingham area and beyond who wish to study at Handsworth School for Girls.
Our Sixth Formers play a full and valuable role in the main school. There are many extra-curricular activities available that are exclusive to the Sixth Form such as the creation of the school magazine ‘The Beacon’ and production of the Sixth Form Revue – a highlight of the Autumn term.
