In 1985 Davis moved to Vancouver BC to head The Vancouver Playhouse Acting School and from there went on to found and run The William Davis Centre for Actors' Study. The William Davis Centre operated at the famous corner of Hornby and Helmcken Street in Vancouver for fifteen years.

Davis, WDC has pursued its mandate to provide quality actor training to students at all stages of their development. Mr. Davis was cast as the Cigarette Smoking Man in the hit TV series, X-FILES in the early nineties.
In 2008, the William Davis Centre for Actors Study joined with VanArts, becoming its acting department. In July 2010, VanArts moved again, this time to 570 Dunsmuir Street. In 2011, additional departments were made for Web Development & Interactive Design, Broadcasting, and Online Media.
THEATRE DIRECTOR. William’s directing career spans decades, from directing Donald Sutherland in Two for the Seesaw at the Chesterfield Rep, Brian Cox in A Man for All Seasons at the Dundee Rep in the early sixties to directing No Man's Land in Vancouver in November 2022.
